In Office Escan XQ Extremity MRI

We have the convenience of offering a state of the art GE E-SCAN XQ MRI unit, providing us with the ability to generate high quality extremity MR imaging in our office setting. Magnetic resonance scanning or imaging (MRI) is a method of viewing the inside of your body without surgery or radiation. The MRI scanner uses a powerful magnet, radio waves, and computer technology to produce extremely detailed pictures of the human anatomy, giving your physician the quality digital images needed to diagnose your Orthopedic problem. The open magnet design is friendly to patients with claustrophobia.
With this advanced technology available to our physicians, we are able to eliminate the delay between diagnosis and treatment, and very often, your doctor will see you the same day as your MRI exam.
We will need some basic information about your medical history before we can perform a scan; the technician will review this information with you prior to your scan, and will ask questions regarding any metal in your body which cannot be removed; a pacemaker; heart or brain surgery; ear implants; rods, plates, screws, nails, or clips from fractured bones; prosthesis; shrapnel; metal slivers in eyes. If you are currently or possibly pregnant, you will be unable to have an MRI.
In order to achieve the best imaging results, you will need to minimize your movement during the scan. The technologist will help you find a position in which you can rest comfortably. Please wear clothing that is loose and comfortable, such as shorts and t-shirts. You will need to remove all jewelry, eyeglasses, and removable hearing aids.
